Fall 2007
Old Timers' Festival

Held every year for over 30 years, the Old Timers' Festival has become an increasingly popular event in the high country. There are plenty of fun things to see and do for the whole family, including a parade, mini-cattle drive, rodeos, fiddlers contest, Spanish Village, Indian Village, western dance and song, and lots of good food.

London Frontier Theatre

"Small-house, experimental theatre at its best," was a reviewer's accolade soon after the theatre was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1991. Magdalena's resident theatre since 1996, LFTC creates and presents a wide variety of plays, adapted to its Western setting, from original scripts, ensemble work, and adaptations of literary classics and contemporary writings, incorporating the area's vivid multi-cultural history to create exciting, entertaining theatre. Presentations are at Magdalena's historic WPA Gym, which LFTC is in the process of purchasing – a permanent home for London Frontier Theatre Company.

Hunting Season

Hunters from all over the country converge on Magdalena during September, October and November to take on the challenge of some of the best hunting in the United States – primarily elk, pronghorn and deer. The New Mexico Department of Fish and Game carefully manages the distribution of hunting tags and licenses to best maintain healthy populations of wild game. Its web site contains all the information you need to begin your hunt.
